The IDEAL Reading Profile is an evidence-based resource designed to increase reading outcomes and enhance IEP development through the use of diagnostic screeners, systematic plans for instruction, and ongoing progress monitoring and data analysis. The 3-step process is anchored in High Leverage Practices in Special Education as well as the Five Pillars of Effective Reading Instruction (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension), as identified by the National Reading Panel (2000).

Meetings will be held VIRTUALLY 12-3pm on the following dates:

  • October 18, 2021
  • November 15, 2021
  • January 24, 2022
  • February 28, 2022

To support implementation, individual virtual coaching conferences (30 minutes each) will be held between scheduled sessions.

This course is designed to build teacher capacity.

Professional learning sessions, modeling, and shared data analysis will support practical application.

Participants will need access to 2-3 students who have an identified weakness in reading.

Registered attendees will be provided all materials needed for the course.
