Course Description More Details
This course is untended for paraeducators who support students with visual impairments who use Braille as their primary learning media.
Participants will learn:
- Information about students with visual impairments and how it impacts their access to the curriculum.
- Best practices for adapting curriculum to support the students' needs.
- How to support the VI teacher, O&M instructor, and general education teacher to help the student obtain their IEP goals.
- How to use tchnology to support the studetns access to the curriculum and create adapted materials.
- Best practices for encouraging independence and social emotional growth.
Participants will also be given the opportunity to share, problem solve, and learn from other paraeducators in similar positions.
