UNDERSTANDING THE 5 PILLARS OF READING:

A ROADMAP TO SPECIALLY DESIGNED INSTRUCTION

 

This course is anchored in the Five Pillars of Effective Reading Instruction (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension), as identified by the National Reading Panel (2000), as well as High Leverage Practices, and is designed to give educators a deeper understanding of how to identify reading skill gaps and apply interventions specifically designed to address those gaps.

Using the research-based guide to effective reading instruction, the Teaching Reading Sourcebook educators will learn actionable instructional strategies in a practical, hands-on manner.

In person sessions will be interactive and attendees will leave with strategies and supports that can be implemented immediately in the classroom.

 

Meetings will be held in person at NE RESA from 9am-3pm on the following dates:

August 28, 2023

September 25, 2023                                     

November 6, 2023            

January 22, 2024

February 26, 2024

To support implementation, individual virtual coaching conferences will be available between scheduled sessions.

 

Registered attendees will receive all materials needed for the course.
