Course Description More Details
The induction cohort is designed to improve the retention of new special education teachers through high-quality mentoring, professional learning and practical application opportunities. Objectives: · Increase innovation in teaching the high leverage practices (HLPs) using mixed-reality simulation labs. · Increase coaching and immediate performance feedback for new special education teachers. Meetings will be held in person at Foothills District Office from 8:15am (sign in) to 3:30pm on the following dates. July 16, 17, 18, 2024 August 14, 2024 September 11, 2024 October 23, 2024 January 22, 2025 February 26, 2025 Practical application with a mixed-reality avatar lab will take place for one-hour sessions remotely from either the 10a-12p or 1-3pm on the following dates (teachers will log in from their school site): August 20, 2024 November 12, 2024 December 11, 2024 Participants must be able to attend both in person and remote sessions. Participants attend lab sessions as assigned, and should expect to be assigned 3-4 sessions throughout the year. Who should register: Special Education Teachers with 0-3 years of experience in the field of education. |
