ProspectiveTeachers will learn both a computer science (CS) conceptual framework anddetailed implementation guidelines for teaching. This course using Guide toTeaching Computer Science book will teach problem solvingstrategies, evaluation, and common incorrect conclusions. Students will learnactive learning techniques for the classroom, project-based and lab-basedteaching. The course has learning activities throughout the book; proposesactive-learning-based classroom teaching methods, as well as methodsspecifically for lab-based teaching. Itdiscusses types of questions that a CS instructor can use for differentteaching situations. Students will participate in lesson planning and coursedesign. The course will also lay out the frameworks by which prospective CSteachers will gain first teaching experience via field experience.
