The induction cohort is designed to improve the retention of new special education teachers through high-quality mentoring, professional learning and practical application opportunities. Objectives: · Increase innovation in teaching the high leverage practices (HLPs) using mixed-reality simulation labs. · Increase coaching and immediate performance feedback for new special education teachers. Meetings will be held in person 12-3pm at the Foothills District Office on the following dates: August 16, 2022 (8a-3p) November 30, 2022 September 8, 2022 January 12, 2023 October 18, 2022 February 7, 2023 November 10, 2022 March 7, 2023 Practical application with a mixed-reality avatar lab will take place for one hours remotely from either 10a-12p or 1-3pm sessions on the following dates (teachers will log in from their school site): September 29, 2022 January 26, 2023 November 1, 2022 February 28, 2023 December 14, 2022 March 22, 2023 Participants must be able to attend both in person and remote sessions. |
