Course description:
This 5 PLU course is intended to provide participants with an understanding of theory, methods, and materials for teaching and assessing learners of English as a new language in U.S. schools.
Course Goals:
- To understand the relationship between second language acquisition theory and teaching methodology,
- To gain proficiency in designing and implementing language teaching methods and materials, and
- To gain proficiency in assessing English language development and in applying information regarding students’ level of English development to design and deliver effective instruction.
